Animals Image Archives of Kalpana Animals from different parts of the world
I love the images of animals and birds, though I am no wildlife photographer and many of the wildlife images on these pages come from captive animals in zoos.
The images are divided into different groups. The images clicked during 2005-2009 are from a Kodak Easyshare camera, while most of the images clicked
after 2009 are from Nikon D40 camera with a Tamron 18 to 200 mm lens (f3.6 to 5.6).

Mongolia near the border of Bayan Ulgii province, that make you understand the
meaning of "horse dick". Click on any thumbnail below to open the page with bigger images of this group of pictures.
Zebras
I had seen zebras in zoos before, but the first time I really saw them was in 2005 in Johannesburg (South Africa). I was there for
a meeting in the periphery in a training centre and they had some semi-wild zebras roaming around. Looking out from my room window
one morning, I had seen them in the football field, and I fell in love with these funny
looking horses. Here are some pictures from that visit in Johannesburg. There are also a few images of zebras from the zoo in
Legnano on the Adriatic coast in the north-east
of Italy. Click on any thumbnail below to open the page with bigger images of this group of pictures.
Aquarium of Genova
Seaside city of Genova in North-west of Italy is known for being the birth place of Columbus. Merchants from medieval republic of Genova,
once dominated the sea routs and international commerce. The city has one of the best aquariums in Europe. Taking pictures in an
aquarium is a hard task because of low lights, fast moving fishes closed inside glass or plastic containers, prohibition of using flash,
etc. and thus these images do not do justice to the beauty of the aquarium.

Our dog Brando
As a child I loved dogs, however in our house we didn't have any dogs. So my love went to Lucy, the dog of my Nana (maternal grandfather) and to
Raja and Ghungroo, dogs of my aunt . I was filled with joy in December 1995, when we decided to get a dog. Marlon Brando (Brando for short) is
our dog ever since. He loves licking people and to be carressed. I don't remember him barking at any of our guests ever. However,
when we go out for a walk, he barks at all male dogs. Now in March 2010, we can see he is getting old. He can hardly see or hear.
He also does not like to go for long walks any more. The thought that he may be no more one day, makes me feel sick. Here is a
selection of some images of Brando. Click on any thumbnail below to open the page with bigger images of this group of pictures.
