Bharatnatyam Dance From Sri Lanka Kalpana Image Archives - Dancers and dances from the world

Bharatnatyam is a classical dance from Tamilnadu in India. It is equally popular among the Tamils in Sri Lanka. Traditional dances and music are very important for maintaining links with homelands and building identities among emigrants. These images were clicked in Bologna during the South Asia evening at the Human Rights Night film festival in 2008. The dances are by a group from Sri Lanka called UNGA from the city of Reggio Emilia (Italy).
