Dhaulagiri is the place where the Kalinga war had taken place and where the death and destruction of war had finally convinced Emperor Ashoka to renounce violence, to embrace Buddhism and to embark on a mission of spreading the message of peace and non-violence and third century BC.

Koraput is a tribal district in south of Orissa, near the border with Andhra Pradesh.
