Cathedral of Brasilia, Brazil Free, high resolution Artistic Wall-papers
The Cathedral designed by Oscar Niemeyer is an example of beautiful architecture that characterizes Brasilia, capital of Brazil. With its underground structure, hanging statues and blue stained glass, the cathedral has a wonderful spiritual ambience. The cathedral also hosts the only authentic official copy of Michelangelo's iconic sculpture from St Peter's church in Rome, the Pietà , that was a special gift brought by Pope John Paul II to Brazil. It took three years to make it. Since the original sculpture is protected behind bullet-proof glass ever since a mentally ill person tried to break it, Brasilia gives you an opportunity to photograph this masterpiece from different angles.
